Imperial Gate offers the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for Preschool and Nursery while a blend of Nigeria/British curriculum is offered at the primary level. The curriculum is broad-based and suitable to prepare pupils for secondary school in Nigeria and abroad.

Playgroup: From 15 months

Preschool: From 2 Years

Primary 1- 6: From 5 – 11 Years

Doors open at 6:30am

School begins at 7:50am

School closes at 1:30pm

Extracurricular Activities start at 1:30pm

Afterschool Coaching starts at 2:30pm

Coaching classes end at 4:00pm

Crèche closes at 6:00pm

Imperial Gate School was birthed in 2007.

The school is currently located at 36, Rasheed Alaba Williams Street (Road 13), Off Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1. The permanent site (on-going building project) is at Central Lekki Estate, Opposite Lagoon School, Lekki Phase 1.

IGS pupils participate in a range of activities that enhance their physical, social and emotional development such as Art & Craft, Football, Music, Lego/Robotics, Swimming, Ballet, Drama, Cheerleading, French, Etiquette, Chess, Reading/Book club and Taekwondo

Conference is held termly to discuss each pupil’s progress. However, parents are free to meet with teachers with prior appointment to discuss their children’s progress.

All pupils from Year 1 through Year 6 are required to wear the Imperial Gate School Uniform.

School lunch is available but optional. The school provides a healthy hot lunch each day to subscribed pupils.

Asides English language, French is taught in Nursery 2 while French, Igbo and Yoruba are taught in the primary classes.

The Parent Council and all parents are an integral part of the school community. As important members of the school community, Imperial Gate School encourages parents’ involvement in school activities/events. The school also runs an open-door policy and welcomes parents’ feedbacks and suggestions.

Imperial Gate School is intentional about preparing pupils for secondary school and beyond by ensuring that children reach their academic potential through carefully planned and enriched learning experiences as well as individualised instruction from the Foundation/Nursery stage to Year 6. From the premium term in Year 5 through the Penultimate term in Year 6, learning time is extended till 4pm. Asides academics, children are equipped with skills required to help them transition smoothly to the next stage of their education and life. With the creative use of technology and focus on 21st Century learning, pupils have the opportunity to learn in new and exciting ways. They will learn to collaborate, communicate, think critically and develop a strong sense of character as we prepare them for a world that is changing rapidly.

Imperial Gate pupils attend a range of secondary schools in line with goals of their parents. These are; Catholic schools, British Schools, Nigeria/British etc. Read more on Secondary Schools passed.

Teachers are the most important persons to discuss anything that has to do with your child’s academics and general behaviour. However, a suitable time or prior appointment is recommended to avoid disrupting teaching/learning process. If you feel a need for an additional conversation after discussing with your child’s teacher, you may contact a senior leadership team such as the supervisors or Deputy Head. The Head of School is also available to attend to your concerns as required.

Yes, the school supports special needs program and collaborates with parents as well as facilitators to help the children achieve their goals.

Yes, Imperial Gate School runs bus shuttle within Lekki Phase 1, Oniru, Elf Estate, Romay Garden, Nicon Town, Agungi, Ikota and VC.

Tuition varies from the foundation stage to primary classes. School fees may be paid annually or termly but are due on or before the first day of school. Only certified bank drafts made payable to Imperial Gate Education and Counselling Limited or online funds transfer will be accepted. Transaction notification details or Payment advice should be brought to the Bursar in the school or mailed to accounts@imperialgateschool.com.
